Auckland Outboard Workshop Joins the TMP Boatyard

We’re pleased to introduce Auckland Outboard Workshop (AOW) as a new service provider at Tamaki Marine Park. With the closure of Promar Marine Servicing, AOW has stepped in to continue looking after existing Promar customers, and welcoming new clients as well. The team includes Scott and Aiden, formerly of Promar, who bring years of experience to their new roles.

AOW will service all major outboard brands, including Honda, Mercury, Yamaha, and Suzuki. They’ll also sell and service E Propulsion electric outboards, giving customers more options than ever. Initially, AOW will operate from the HMB Marine Electrical base onsite, providing trusted outboard servicing and support right here in the TMP Boatyard.

Roodberg HBT60 Trailer: Takes on vessels up to a massive 25 metres and 60 tonnes.

Wiggins Marina Bull Forklift: Handles boats up to 16 metres in length and 20 tonnes.

So if you’ve been holding off because you thought your boat might be too big, think again—we’ve got you covered!

Stay Alert, Stay Safe Around TMP

A quick reminder to everyone walking or driving around Tamaki Marine Park – please stay mindful of any machinery in motion! If you see machinery operating or boats being moved, always stop and let them pass before continuing on your way. All our operators are highly skilled and well-versed in handling heavy machinery safely, it’s still important to give them the space they need to do their job. Taking a moment to pause helps ensure that everyone – both people and equipment – can move safely around the marina. Also, if you’re walking your dog through TMP, please keep it on leash. Thank you!

Boating with Four Legged Friends? Doggy Do’s and Don’ts

We see plenty of TMP boaties with dog in tow! Boating with your pup is a joy – but don’t forget that safety comes first. From fitting them with a life jacket to keeping a close eye on them around the water, a few simple steps can make all the difference. With these tips, you’ll be set for smooth sailing and a tail-wagging good time!

Don’t forget a lead. Unless it’s clearly an off-leash area, always keep them leashed for safety.

Do’s:

  • Bring a canine life jacket. It’s not just a precaution – it can save your dog’s life.
  • Pack plenty of clean water. Neither saltwater or lake water is safe for drinking.
  • Research shore regulations. Many islands and national parks don’t allow dogs onshore.
  • Use sunscreen. Yes, dogs can get sunburnt. Protect their nose and other sensitive areas.

Don’ts:

  • Never leave them unattended. Keep them secured or within reach to prevent accidents.
  • Don’t assume they can swim well. Not all dogs are natural swimmers, and conditions can be challenging.

Water Safety Starts Before You Get To Sea!

This is just a reminder that all types of boaties from power boats, kayaks, rowers, outrigger canoes and waka ama use this river. It is great to see so many enjoying this beautiful river but we do have to remember the rules and regulations so as to keep a safe harmony on the river. It is important to remember the 5 knot and no wake rule and to take your time allowing others to make their manoeuvres in the river currents. Please take some time to review the rules and safe navigation on our website.
